Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often, designed to help you better understand your options.

How do I get started?

You can request a consultation directly through our website by clicking the “Book a Consultation” button on the home page. Once we receive your inquiry, a member of our team will contact you within two business days to ask a few questions and make sure we’re able to assist you. If we can, we will then schedule your initial consultation and guide you through the next steps.

What happens during the first consultation?

Before your consultation, you will be asked to complete an intake form so we can review the key details in advance. During the meeting, we will go through your situation, address all relevant issues, and provide practical advice tailored to your circumstances. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions. At the end of the meeting, we will outline next steps, including your options, our recommended approach, and the fees associated with moving forward.

What should I bring to the consultation?

Bring any documents relevant to your situation, such as court documents, agreements, or financial information. If you’re unsure, bring what you have and we will guide you from there.

You are welcome to bring a support person if you wish. However, we ask that you do not bring children or your former spouse or partner to the consultation.

How do your fees work?

During your initial consultation, we will explain our fee structure in detail so you understand exactly what to expect. In most cases, we require a retainer, which is an upfront deposit that is applied toward the work on your file. As we work on your matter, time is billed against the retainer based on the work completed. We keep detailed records of all work done and provide regular updates so you can stay informed about your account and ongoing costs. Any unused portion of your retainer at the end of your file will be returned to you.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes, we offer both in-person and virtual appointments to accommodate your needs. Whether you prefer to meet in person, by phone, or by video, we will work with you to find a convenient option.

How will we communicate with you during your case?

We keep our clients informed throughout the process. We communicate by email or phone, depending on your preference, and schedule meetings in advance as needed based on the circumstances of your matter. We aim to respond to client inquiries within two business days. We also provide ongoing updates, so you remain informed at each stage of your matter.
